- Research

It does not matter that you have cleared your high school; you still need to do your homework regarding your trip. It is very important to gather all the possible information about the place you are about to visit including climate, visa pre-requisites, events and accommodation.

- Insurance

Traveling abroad sounds very exciting but things can sometimes go against your expectations and will have you landed in an emergency. Always get your travel insurance to avoid the unforeseen dangers. Also make sure that the policy will cover all medical and hospital expenses along with other activities like adventure sports in which you think that you can take part in.

- Health

Nobody wants to get sick on their holiday trip. It is advised to maintain regular visits to your general practitioner at least eight weeks before your travel out of the country. He will update you with the most important information about the country's immunizations and related preventative measures needed.

- Visas and Passports

A valid passport is what you need to start with your overseas trip. Update your self with all the necessary information related to the country's passport and visa requirements. Some places will demand your passport to be applicable for at least six months after your proposed arrival date.

- Photocopies

Your tickets, passport, travel insurance, visas, driving license etc. need sufficient amounts of photocopies. And do keep them separated from the original documents. Act smart and exchange some of the copies with your co-travelers. This will help to reduce the risk of losing the important documents.

- Currency

Never rely on any form of currency. Always take along your credit cards, travelers cheques and some lose cash. Carry enough money which is adequate enough to cover any unexpected expenses. It does not matter what all you plan to do with your money, just avoid keeping it at one place.

- Travel Details

Leave your entire trip related general details with your family members and friends. Also do not forget to regularly e-mailing them about the place where you currently reside.

- Local Customs and Laws

Ensure that you bundle suitable clothing according to the place you are about to explore because some countries, basically, the Middle East and Asia, believe in dressing conventionally. Being a visitor, do not expect any special kind of treatment. If you are visiting a place then it is mandatory to respect its customs and laws even if they appear not-your-cup-of-tea types.
